Developed by Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works, a thermoplastic nanocomposite that rivals aluminum in performance, but at a lower weight, is to be commercialized by a new startup. Alpine Advanced Materials has been formed by venture development company Catalyze Dallas, which previously created Metro Aerospace to commercialize a drag-reducing technology developed within Lockheed.
